Negative Impact of Policies Based on False IPCC Reports

imageA man called who experienced what is evolving from the lies and deceptions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) used to perpetrate the agenda of Maurice Strong. A group of citizens attended a public briefing on the British Columbia government’s climate change plans. I met them and all were concerned, frustrated and determined to do something. They asked about the science, but the main question was what could they do. Around the world similar plans are filtering down which give government control over almost every aspect of people’s lives using their money. Climate change as the major vehicle for political control requires a popular revolt because most politicians aren’t listening.

The British Columbia Example

All plans stem from total acceptance by governments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Reports (IPCC). Here’s what the British Columbia government said in their legislation proposal in February 2008) preamble, “Taking refuge in the status quo…is avoiding responsibility and being generationally selfish. Every molecule of carbon dioxide released into our atmosphere by human activities matters. It hangs there for decades or even centuries, and adds to the accumulated burden of global warming on our planet.” “Generationally selfish” is leftist jargon meaning we’re destroying the planet for our grandchildren. The last sentence is false because CO2 only stays in the atmosphere for 5 to 6 years. IPCC promoted the false longevity to claim that even if we stop now the problem won’t be resolved for a long time. Legislation introduced was called the Climate Action Plan (CAP).
Preamble to the CAP said, “The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is the world’s foremost authority on the subject, drawing on the expertise of more than 2,500 scientists from 130 countries. Established by the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environment Programme, the IPCC has coordinated four major assessments of global climate change, dating back to 1990. In its 2007 report, the panel concluded that global warming is now unequivocal and is “now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice and rising global average sea level.” The number of people involved is meaningless; except that they include the people at the CRU who have now conceded the arguments are false.

False Promises: Proven Failures

They then present “green jobs” to sell the project. “A study by the University of California Berkeley estimated the state could gain as many as 89,000 new jobs and realize an annual economic benefit of up to $74 billion by pursuing its climate action goals. We can expect to see similar benefits here in B.C., as people seek efficiencies to help reduce costs, and businesses emerge to capture new opportunities in fields such as clean energy and energy-efficient technology.” Green jobs fail wherever they’re tried.

California is a very bad example to use to promote climate and energy solutions because Enron was a major influence. The BC government knew this because California bought power to cover shortfalls. Later the State threatened a lawsuit accusing BC of gouging.

Major promoter of the BC Climate Action Plan is IPCC member, computer modeler Andrew Weaver. Quoted in the Plan he tells us, “What [the B.C. government has] done here is they recognize this is the right thing to do, it’s the only thing to do to address this problem and we’re not going to wait for the feds or someone to do it. We’re going to show leadership in North America and you watch, it’s going to start to have a ripple down effect and others are going to start to join up as the years go by.” What he presents as an endorsement should actually serve as a warning.

British Columbia is not alone in basing regional and local policies on IPCC findings, however, they are exceptional with introduction of a carbon tax. Currently at 3% and scheduled to increase each year until 2012, with a final price of about 7.2 cents per liter at the pumps. Here is a 2010 quote from the New Brunswick government. “The Government has investigated various sources of evidence on the science of climate change and is satisfied that the most reliable information is that provided by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The IPCC assessments involve a rigorous and open review process, which is audited by thousands of scientists and representatives of 194 governments. In its Fourth Assessment Report, the IPCC states that the evidence for climate change is unequivocal.”
Climate change is occurring, the problem is the IPCC deliberately identified the wrong cause.

Similarities in the wording from different governments are not surprising because it’s the message from higher levels of government. For example, the 2008 communique from the G8 meeting said, “Climate Change is one of the most urgent issues for the world to tackle. We, G8 Finance Ministers, recognize that the international community has been making considerable efforts, but that there is still much to do. Many reports, like the one released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), have warned us of the huge economic risks and adverse impacts from climate change and underscored the need for all countries to take concerted action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly below current levels.”

Obama created a new government agency titled, “The White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy” under the direction of Carol Browner former head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Browner was Legislative Director for Senator Al Gore in the critical years starting 1988 to 1991, when James Hansen appeared before Gore’s Committee and made his statement that he was 99% certain humans had caused warming. Browner may be Obama’s appointment but as Rolling Stone notes, Gore’s influence is also still felt in government, where his protégée, Carol Browner, is now Obama’s “climate czarina.”

Some Know It’s Disastrous

A few governments reject the climate claims, but the majority denies or ignores the falsity of the IPCC Reports.

They’re confused because they think they won’t be green or will lose a tax opportunity. But climate change has nothing to do with pollution or acting with environmental common sense. It has everything to do with destroying economies and progress. We look at California but we also have the example created by the architect of using climate to achieve his agenda Maurice Strong who said, ”Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized nations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?” Strong was appointed head of Ontario Hydro, the giant utility that provides all power for the province. In some difficulty when he took over he ran it into the ground. The Province faces energy problems for years to come while users pay a monthly fee to offset the financial damage. Is this happening in your area?
